in all seriousness, i hope some poor census worker doesn't get shot over this nonsense. there's plenty of people on fox nation threatening guns and violence. if any of these commenters (or bachmann) took a couple minutes to look at the census website, they would see that the census is actually simpler than it ever has been and no longer contains personal or potentially intrusive questions that the long-form census had. what they are actually concerned about (but don't know it) is the american community survey, which is done every year and is now being used to obviate the need for the long-form census. it's been in development and testing for 14 years (but fox news only started talking about it after obama was elected) and it has little to do with barack obama or acorn. these people will get themselves worked up over the smallest thing.

also, to be fair, i can't tell if some commenters are trolling and leaving insincere incendiary comments, but i guess as best i can. there's seriously enough crazies on this site that an occasional faker isn't doing much to tip the balance one way or the other.

so i made this video about 3 years ago. at the time, it had a sweet yes song ("heart of the sunrise") that matched up perfectly. yesterday when i was uploading other videos, i noticed a little warning box saying the audio had been disabled due to a copyright infringement claim. i wonder how that works? it's not like my little video is all over the blogworld, and it wasn't tagged with anything identifying the music. do the record companies have computers that just go through every youtube video and compare the audio profiles against everything in their library? or does jon anderson spend his time trolling the internet looking for yes songs?

when they disable the audio, you have the choice of adding in a copyright-clear song provided by youtube. this song is pretty sweet, but it certainly loses some intensity. i don't think i have a copy of the original anymore, which is unfortunate.

(spoilers!) i didn't realize before seeing it that it was a remake of gran torino: an elderly widowed man, distraught after his wife's death, has shut himself off from the world. he's very protective of his property and stubbornly resists change. but then an asian-american boy teaches him to open up and learn to live again. what's shocking is that the pixar version was more foulmouthed and racially provocative than eastwood's film.
