fox nation of idiots: condoms!!

one of my (most? least?) favorite things about the right wing is their ability to turn any federal spending, no matter how rational and necessary, into the most egregious example of government waste, especially if it involves science in any way. in the (alternate reality) fox nation, commenters are up in arms over the national institute of health spending a paltry $423,000 to study why men avoid using condoms. the reason for such a study is fairly obvious - promoting safe sex, preventing unwanted pregnancies and the spread of stds, all of which cost the public much, much more than 423k a year - but don't tell that to the fox nation . . . among many homophobic, poorly executed jokes about how barney frank is gay, we have these gems:
