CA

jerry brown gives his opening pitch to the chron:
Brown said he would not support raising taxes unless voters approved, that he can live with the current two-thirds majority needed to pass new taxes and state budgets, and that he does not believe changes are needed in the Proposition 13 tax initiative.
He also said he opposes so-called "sanctuary cities" and driver's licenses for undocumented immigrants and said he is "not going to jump on the (marijuana) legalization bandwagon."

well then.  this is going to be an awful election!

although this seems like a really smart talking point to me:

While never mentioning Whitman, who already has put $39 million of her own money into her campaign, Brown clearly aimed to challenge her argument that fresh perspective and business know-how are needed in the governor's office.

"Some of these CEOs don't get that being a governor is not being an autocrat," he said. Governors "don't give orders to the Legislature. The Legislature controls the money - and always has."
