the onion is no longer going to print a san francisco edition. this is really sad. the print onion has been one of the great treats of living in the city since they started publishing in 2005. although it didn't really touch politics, as an events and culture weekly, the paper was much, much better than the guardian or the weekly. more concise, easier to navigate, and with smarter articles and recommendations. i think the onion's movie reviews are some of the best around. not to mention the regular onion content, which (especially for how long they have been around) is still amazingly sharp and brilliant. i once saw an old guy at geary and divisadero staring in shock at the onion headlines, clearly not aware that it was a satirical paper.
ooh, thank god. i was momentarily scared that the brilliant editorial cartoons were only in the print edition, but it turns out they are online as well.
